The Mountfield 1438M-SD offers the perfect solution for those of you who do not wish to collect your grass clippings. In tall growth conditions the side discharge mode neatly cuts and spreads the grass so it can be left to wilt naturally. For areas that are being mown on a more regular basis the mulching function cuts and re-cuts the grass into small particles that disappear into the turf, returning valuable nutrients to the soil. Powered by a 13.5hp single cylinder Briggs & Stratton engine the 1438M SD has a manual transmission with 5 forward and a reverse gear. It is fitted with a 98cm/38in working width cutter deck with side discharge or mulch options. Height of cut is easy to adjust from 30-80mm with 7 settings.
